At Lumley area in Freetown, the new traffic light was turned on for the first time in 50 years which caused traffic jam. Drivers have never used traffic light and this has caused a little bit of confusion as drivers have used to break traffic. The authorities had to turn off the light to unclog the traffic congestion.
This has highlighted an understanding of what needs to be done to educate drivers about traffic rules. This is going to take a lott of effort sensitization and traffic rules enforcement.
